Psalm Chapter 14
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
If there was any person that was foolish, it would be someone who does not believe in God. How can we look at the creation and even consider that it was an accident and that it evolved into being over a period of millions of years. How can life come from nothing and become something. Look how a seed is planting into the ground and it becomes edible food. Look at a newborn babe and how it has two eyes, two ears, a mouth, a nose, heart, kidneys, lungs, and all things it needs to survive. Yet that baby needs a parent to care for it until it is grown. If the baby was left alone with no care, it would die. How could it have evolved then. How would it have been able to survive without something keeping it alive. Evolution is the most impossible theory ever thought up by the foolishness of man. It was thought up by those who didn't want to believe in God. Why? Perhaps they were turned off of the religion they've seen throughout history. Wars, fighting, and evil continually coming from those claim that they believe in God. Then perhaps the they want to live in sin and do not want a God to tell them how they should live. What we don't always realize is the there is a God certainly; but there is also an opponent of God who is out to wreck the work of God in any way he can. So he tries to get all of us confused. He tries to get us to hate, use force, harm those that disagree. Satan then has what he has always wanted and that is to destroy what God wants to save. The evil one will try to cause people to take scripture out of context and misapply it so that it changes the meaning. There are many other ways of trying to destroy what God creates. We though are given a free will to choose to study, pray and seek the correct meaning of scripture. We can find God if we ask, seek and are willing to follow His ways. Truth will bring salvation. The true Christian doctrine will teach that God sent Jesus Christ to save us from our sins so that we can inherit eternal life. It teaches the power of God to change lives and make all things new. It teaches perfect love that casts out all fear. So why did Christians do evil during the Crusades and other periods in history? Because Satan wanted to wreck the message of salvation. Jesus Christ is perfect and did no evil. Our salvation depends on our faith in Him as the one God sent to take away sins. Just because Christians have messed up, does not mean that the message of the gospel is not true. There are Christians that are full of God's Spirit and do love their neighbor and love God with all their hearts. Satan does try to wreck that in them all the time so that no one will listen to what they have to say. Even though we receive Jesus Christ and become "born again," does not mean that we can't sin. God did not make us puppets. We still have a free will to choose good from evil. Once we receive Jesus as savior, we must continue in Him and abide in Christ. We must walk by faith every day of our lives and strive to continue in the faith. We must resist the devil continually or else we will lose our testimony before the world and they will not see Jesus in us. Those Christians who persecuted others because they did not believe as they (the Christians) did, had fallen away from their first love. Read Revelations chapter 2. They had long since substituted the love of Jesus Christ for a religious spirit. Their religion became outward form and ritual rather than an inward spirit-filled life. They had long since lost their original faith in Jesus Christ, by the time the Crusades had taken place. Perhaps when some from other religions or no religion came upon the scene and observed these things, Christianity was not what it first was. Many at that time may have seen the bad fruit and rejected their way. The message of the gospel becomes hidden when sin is in the lives of those that claim to be followers of Christ. Those that heard their message must not have seen love, joy and peace but cruelty and hate. Jesus came to save us from sin. When we come to Jesus turning from our sin and receiving Him by faith, we receive the Holy Spirit. This wonderful Holy Spirit abides within us. We can continually be filled with the Spirit as we walk in faith and love. It is more than another religion. We are no longer alone. We no longer have a form of religion but a new life within us. We lose our desire to sin. We no longer have to try to keep from sinning and using our will power but we can keep from sinning by trusting in God to help us daily. We have His Holy Spirit to abide in us and cause us to love righteousness. Even then, Satan tries to wreck that and either get us to return to sin or become over religious and rob us of the love that we once had. We can resist this.
We are commanded to love people who are unbelievers, not hurt them.
A true Christian will not hate the Jew or Muslim. He will love their souls and desire their salvation. A true Christian will not hate those in Christianity that believe a little different. We do not have to join together into one world church. That should be avoided, but we are commanded to love one another. We cannot compromise the truth of the gospel but we can get along and love one another. To fellow Christians, I say, let us not lose our testimony before the world by allowing hate to enter our hearts toward those of a different faith or no faith. Rather pray for them that they may find Jesus Christ and believe the gospel. Jesus our Christ is the one God sent to take away sin and grant us eternal life. He is the only way make no mistake about that. His death on the cross was necessary to pay the price for all our sins. If there would have been another way, God would not have allowed His Son to become one of us and suffer in such a manner. Jesus became flesh to show us the way to God. He is the only way to God.
Some do not understand that there is only one way to God. However, when God sends His Son to die for sins, be buried in a tomb and then raises from the dead to show that we who believe will be raised from the dead, how can there possibly be any other way?
He is grieved to see us walking in sin, ignoring the word of God and no longer believing in Him and the gift of eternal salvation He offers to all who believe. He made a way that we can be free of this sin that is destroying us here on earth and for eternity. Sin kills and destroys. God can take away that sin but we have to come to Him and allow Him to do so. We cannot save ourselves. We have to come to God through His Son, Jesus who is the Messiah (Christ). If we don't let Jesus remove our sin and cancel out the debt of sin, we will die in our sin and be lost in eternal hell. Neglect of the word of God is what causes us to not have any victory over sin. Without this, we war and fight continually.
God always has a people existing somewhere. This is not a certain race, religion or denomination but mixed in with all those races, religions and denominations are those who love His word and continually walk in God's Holy Spirit. It's not the Baptist Church, the Pentecostal church, the Methodists, the Jews, Islam, or Catholic that are God's people, it is individuals who have received Jesus Christ as savior from sin and are filled with the Holy Spirit. God's people are people that obey Him, obey His word and walk in the Spirit, not in the flesh. Salvation is individual. It is not a certain organized religion. There are many in those religions that are saved and walking in the Spirit but it is because they have received Jesus Christ and not because they joined a church. Workers of iniquity are those that do not call upon the Lord, do not obey His word and persecute the true believers in Jesus Christ.
True Christians will love righteousness and refuse sin. God is in the midst of those that love Him and resist sin.
True religion will care for the poor. If you see any losing compassion for the poor, you will see those that do not know the Lord or have once known Him but have fallen away from their first love.
David was giving a prophecy in verse 7. He foretold the day when salvation would come out of Israel. Jesus Christ is that salvation and at His Second Coming Israel will discover their true Messiah, Jesus Christ and find out that the one their ancestors rejected is the very Messiah that was to save them from sin and bring them eternal life.
Is this just for the Jews? No.
Jesus brings all together and we become one in Jesus Christ. This is not an organized church on this earth but all are one through faith in Jesus Christ. We need church to have fellowship with other believers but the church is not our salvation, it is Jesus Christ.
This gift is for everyone, not just the Jewish people. Let us not miss the true message of the bible just because some have messed up and do not live what the bible teaches. The message is that true faith is in Jesus Christ. It's not a denomination, it is Jesus who came to save us from sin. The only way to God is not in these religions but in Jesus our Christ. It is an individual thing and does not depend upon an organized church or religion. I'm not saying that we should abandon going to church. We need to go to a place where there are other believers. We need to worship God with others that believe this wonderful gospel. This we should do more and more. Our salvation though depends on us as
individuals receiving Jesus into our lives, letting Him
take away our sins and give us eternal life. This is the
message many miss and substitute a religion of works, rituals or
even idolatry. Salvation does not
depend on any one church, religion, place or race of people. Salvation is for all and is through Jesus
who is the Christ. The Messiah. DC
