Psalm Chapter 148

  • Psalm 148:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
  • 2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.
  • 3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
  • 4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

If we could only see and understand the mighty works of God, we too would feel like praising God with all the strength we would be able to come up with in this body of flesh. If we could only see how much it cost Jesus Christ to bear our sins upon that cross. If we could only understand the plan of salvation He bought for us so that we would not perish but live eternally. If we could only see the things that God has prepared for those that love Him. If we could only see a glimpse of His love for each and every one of us, we too would praise the Lord for eternity.

  • Psalm 148:5 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

At His word mighty works are done, at His word everything is established. His word shall go forth and not return empty. None can stop the fulfillment of bible prophecy. Men can work and plan but they cannot stop the word of God from bringing forth that which He desires.

They try to stop His word by forbidding the preaching of the gospel, it can't be stopped. They try to stop His word by killing His teachers and prophets, it can't be stopped. They try to stop His word by trying to convince the multitudes that God does not exist, but it hasn't worked. Very few believe in evolution.

  • Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

  • Psalm 148:6 He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
  • 7 Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:
  • 8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:
  • 9 Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:
  • 10 Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:
  • 11 Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:
  • 12 Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
  • 13 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.
  • 14 He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.

We cannot praise Him enough. One thing we can be assured of, if we are praising the Lord in sincerity and truth, He is present in our midst.

  • Psalm 22:3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

It says Israel here but when we become believers in Jesus Christ we become adopted into Israel. We do not take Israel's place or supplant Israel but we become grafted into the vine of Israel which is Jesus according to John 15.. Therefore God will also inhabit the praises of anyone who believes in Him and receives His plan of salvation that He provided us through faith in His Son, Jesus the Messiah of Israel. DC
