Psalm Chapter 46
To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.
This may be our only hope in days to come. To consider God as our refuge and nothing else. Complete trust in God should bring about freedom from fear. For this reason. First of all is that we have come to God the way He has provided; that way being faith in Jesus Christ. If we come to God through Jesus Christ, we belong to His family. We are His people. The promise of becoming a child of God is through faith in Jesus our Messiah (Christ). After we become His, He will care for us. According to the scriptures, He will not allow us to bear anything that we can not bear. So we do not have to fear. He will not allow us to go through anything that will be too much for us. That promise is for those that are walking with and trusting in the Lord.
The heathen rages today against all those that live godly and choose the Lord for their savior. Our godly lives testify that their deeds are evil and they don't want to be reminded of that so they try to stop us. Notice the latter day laws and decrees that try to remove God from our schools, society, public displays and courtrooms. When they hear the name of Jesus they become aware of their sin. They do not want the light of Jesus Christ to shine and expose their sin so they try to remove it. Why do you think people prefer to flock to churches where preachers do not preach against sin? They want to be comfortable and not be reminded that they need to repent. The message of the cross is repentance and change. The message is offensive because it says that we are sinners and need Jesus Christ to be free from sin. If we prefer to stay comfortable in our sin, we will not want to have Jesus around to remind us that we are sinners that need to be saved. God gave us a wonderful gift of salvation through faith in Jesus. He offers eternal life, His Holy Spirit living within us and His presence with us always.
We do not like to see our loved ones leave us and depart. Yet if they die in Christ and belong to Him, if we do the same, we shall see them again. They suffer no more, they are tempted no longer, they live eternally.
We sometimes fail to realize who God is. There is nothing on the earth that is hid from Him. Kingdoms rise and fall at His will. Do you think that it is great armies and navies that sustain us? At His word a nation rises and at His word they fall. If you read the word of God, you will see that evil nations eventually fall. God allows them for a period of time but eventually they fall. Many kingdoms have come and gone but tiny Israel has returned after years of being without a nation. That is a significant end time sign. Israel had to be a nation again in order for the final bible prophecies to come to pass. Even though Israel as a nation has not yet recognized their Messiah, Jesus the Son of God, they are still to be reconciled to God in the future. Yet we see from the bible that God used other nations to punish Israel for their backsliding and idolatry but the nations that did come against Israel fell greatly. When a nation first rejects God, Satan has more strength. The United States at the time of this writing is a great powerful nation. Yet I fear for the United States if we keep going on the course that we are traveling. I'm not talking about stopping evil tyrants. That is not the sin that we have committed. No other nation has helped poor starving people like the United States. No other nation has been a refuge for the oppressed like the United States. In that we have done well. The danger lies now in our court systems ruling everything good and holy as unconstitutional and calling evil good and good evil. In schools the prayer and bible has been removed. This was ruled in 1963. If God leaves, Satan walks in and takes over. If you look at public education from that point on, you will see a significant difference. You will see kids that are unruly, disrespectful, rebellious and lazy. Teen pregnancy, aids, disease, drug use, alcoholism has increased. They have trouble staying in school and even learning to read. Violence in the schools have increased. Police have to guard some schools. Some even have metal detectors. School shootings have increased in recent years. God goes out, the devil comes in. I say this to many today and get laughed at. They will quote the old line of separation of church and state. When I went to public grade school, there was no such thing as school shootings. Our biggest in school problem was chewing gum. In 1962 and 63 prayer and bible reading was ruled unconstitutional. The teaching of evolution increased. In 1963 our president was assassinated. Riots and war protests arose later. Drug use destroyed many kids and homes. Later violence came into the schools when classmates gunned down their own peers and teachers. You may say that there is no connection but I believe there is. Without the fear of God, evil will prevail in any society. He brings life and respect for life. Satan will steal, kill and destroy our society. We don't need attacks from without to destroy our country, we are destroying ourselves in the name of freedom. This is not freedom. We are fast becoming servants of bondage. This bondage is sin and it will destroy us.
God made us a great nation because we feared Him, became a refuge for the Jewish people during the 2nd world war, and became a nation that He used to send missionaries all over the world to preach the gospel. If we start hindering those that preach the gospel, we will be in big trouble. We knew the truth and are fast turning from it like the verses in Peter I quoted above. Pray for a return to God in America before it is too late. Don't fear the terrorists. They have no power in themselves. They cannot touch us if God protects us. However if God's hand of protection is lifted, we will have no strength against terrorists or anyone else. God will not force Himself upon us. He sees our separation of church and state so called. If we do not want Him in our midst, He will not be here. If we want Him to leave so that we can sin all we want, then He will leave. Then there is no longer any protection against any enemy on the face of the earth. It is not God that will destroy us. If He is not here to protect us we will have no power over any enemy. The only one more powerful than all enemies is God. If we ignore the word of God which was written for our good and our salvation, we will reap what we sow. I say this to Christians and non-Christians. God has a way of escape and a way of salvation. God had the bible written to help us and teach us how to have eternal life, how to live, and how to love one another. If we ignore it, we will suffer destruction. He had His own Son die for our sins so that we can be saved. If we ignore this, it is to our own peril. It is not God's fault if terrorists attack. Don't blame God, blame the evil in the world that gains more strength when we ignore God's word. The more God we have, the less evil will reign. God is our only protection and our only help but He will not stay among us if we don't want Him. He will not stay if we choose to sin and not accept His deliverance from sin. The comfort in the book of Psalms only apply if we trust in God. If our trust is in God then, every promise in the book is for us. Let's read it and see what God has to say to us. Pray for the president of the United States, he needs our prayers. The weight of the world is upon His shoulders. Let us not sit back and criticize his every fault and mistake. Let us pray for him and be glad we are not in his shoes. DC
