Psalm Chapter 119 Part D

TETH.

  • Psalm 119:65  Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.

God will be faithful to those who are faithful to Him. I've never seen God fail to deal according to His word to those who trust Him. God's word will come to pass and it will not fail. There is more of a chance of the sun not rising tomorrow morning than there is for God to fail one of His faithful believers.

  • Psalm 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

This should be our daily prayer for God to teach us the good way.

  • Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

  • Psalm 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

It is a shame to say this but sometimes, we have to be afflicted first before we seek God. Sometimes disaster has to strike before someone listens to what God says.

  • Psalm 119:68 Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
  • 69 The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.

I repeat from previous notes, the godly who are faithful to God and live by His word will not be in favor with the worldly crowd at the same time. We have to choose God and not man.

  • Psalm 119:70 Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.

Those that are weighed down with unbelief, bondage to sin and rebellion is exactly like someone who are full grease that clogs the arteries.

  • Psalm 119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

When we are going about in sin straying away from God and He allows some affliction to stop us, it is much better than going on down the road with error which may eventually lead to ruin or the loss of one's soul.

  • Psalm 119:72 The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.

There is no comparison with God's rewards and the material things of this life. One moment in His presence is greater than hours filled the fun and laughter of this world.

JOD

  • Psalm 119:73 Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.

This is God's will for us all. There is no tongue, tribe or nation that God does not want to save from sin and give eternal life to. He wants us to have understanding that we might live. Would I allow my own son to die for someone else. Probably not. Yet God did just that. God the Son had to become a man, live without sinning even once and allow Himself to die in such a horrible manner to reverse the curse Adam brought upon us by his choice to believe Satan rather than God. Death came upon all of us because of that sin. God sent His own Son into human flesh so that His death that He didn't deserve could count for all of us who believe and receive Him. Jesus could have called the angels to rescue Him but He chose to die in such a manner that would reverse that curse. Since He was resurrected, we who believe will also be resurrected with new bodies that cannot die. Those that refuse this good way will enter eternity in a place where the soul doesn't die but it is in torment forever.

  • 2Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
  • 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
  • 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
  • 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

We wait with anticipation, expectation, looking and loving His appearing but until that day, we occupy and follow the Lord's will for our lives.

  • Psalm 119:74 They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word.

When we walk in the fear of the Lord, we are happy to see a fellow believer who also walks in the fear of God. If we are backslidden and not walking with God, the last person we want to run across is a person living godly who may ask after our spiritual condition.

  • Psalm 119:75 I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
  • 76 Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.
  • 77 Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.

We should desire to live so as to delight in the law of God.

  • Psalm 119:78 Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.

Again we are reminded that if we live godly, there will be some that will oppose us.

  • Psalm 119:79 Let those that fear thee turn unto me, and those that have known thy testimonies.
  • 80 Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.

God's spirit delivers us from shame.

CAPH

  • Psalm 119:81  My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

The word is our hope and strength.

  • Psalm 119:82 Mine eyes fail for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?

The word is our comforter.

  • Psalm 119:83 For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes.
  • 84 How many are the days of thy servant? When wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?

Vengeance is mine says the Lord. God prefers all to repent and find salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. If we refuse, reject God and persecute God's faithful followers, we will suffer judgment sooner or later. We reap what we sow.

  • Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

  • Psalm 119:85 The proud have digged pits for me, which are not after thy law.
  • 86 All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.
  • 87 They had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts.
  • 88 Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.

No weapon formed against one God has called or one that believes God with all his or her heart, shall prosper.

  • Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

It has been prophesied from back in the days of Enoch that Jesus Christ is coming back with ten thousands of His saints to execute judgment on the ungodly that spoke against prophets, preachers, believers, and even Jesus Christ Himself.

We don't have to be part of the ones that our judged. We can be partakers of God's holiness. We can be part of His coming kingdom. Repent of sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will not only save your own soul but those who are influenced by your life. DC
