Psalm Chapter 75

To the chief Musician, Altaschith, A Psalm or Song of Asaph.

  • Psalm 75:1  Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

If any group of people, countries or nations would recognize the wondrous works of God and fear His name, they would have the greatest nation to exist.

  • Psalm 75:2 When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.

God has better things for those that serve and trust Him. So many blessings await a nation that loves God and receives the way of salvation He sent to save us from sin and grant us life eternal. That was Jesus the Son of God, the savior, and the Christ.

Look at the trend from 1962. First the Supreme Court rules that bible reading and prayer were unconstitutional in public schools. Immediately after that took place we had the assassination of John Kennedy, the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., race riots, the assassination of Bobby Kennedy. In the 70s things got worse. Abortion was ruled legal and it became legal for women to murder their own babies. We had war protesters, more rioting, the drug problem among the youth increased in alarming numbers.

Lack of the fear of God was prevailing.

Now we have a generation who thinks it strange and even dangerous to even contemplate having prayer in school. The bible is considered a myth. There is no fear of God. Those who protest abortion are considered evil. A marriage between a man and woman is no longer sacred and holy. We've left God's divine order of marriage and we are going downhill fast. The kids are confused about gender, mental illness is on the rise, and school shootings along with suicides are increasing. Its like Paul the apostle saw into the future when he wrote Romans chapter 1.

Everything is the opposite of what God teaches in His word. Of course many do not even believe the bible is the word of God anymore. Nothing is absolute and we face chaos in the future without returning to the God we have forsaken.

Disasters have increased but instead of realizing God's hand of protection isn't as strong among us as it used to be, they blame climate change which used to be called global warming. Ah people, if we only realized that God can fix all that if we look to Him instead of trying to do things ourselves and just making things worse.

  • Psalm 75:3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.
  • 4 I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
  • 5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

That is exactly what is happening today. People speak with a stiff neck and a hardened heart. There is no respect for authority. Some in high places are more concerned with prosecuting political opponents rather than real criminals that are dangerous to society. I never would have dreamed the United States would be like that. I'm deeply concerned about crimes against children. If we continue even pedophilia will be considered an acceptable sexual orientation. If we go that far, this nation is history.

  • Psalm 75:6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
  • 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

By the word of God we stand as a nation or fall. We have no hope outside of Him. We need Him more than anything.

  • Psalm 75:8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

God will not let evil continue. If we choose to ignore God and continue in our own ways that is right in our own eyes, we will face destruction as a nation.

  • Psalm 75:9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
  • 10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

Those that are wicked will be destroyed and those that follow God and cleave to His righteousness shall remain. Evil will not prevail. It looks bad now but God is our hope and strength, God will not forsake those that are faithful to Him and that receive His Son, Jesus, the only the way of salvation.

  • Psalm 33:10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
  • 11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
  • 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
  • 13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
  • 14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
  • 15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
  • 16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
  • 17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
  • 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
  • 19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
  • 20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
  • 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

God is our hope, our strength, our mainstay, our escape, and the one that will bring true liberty. To be free from the bondage of sin and covered with the righteousness of Christ, all things become new. Old things pass away. Life will not just be the here and now but life will continue with a body that can never die, with an eternity with God who is getting ready to create an new Heaven and a new earth. We are safe, we are secure, no disease, no murder, no poverty, no rape, no injustice, children are safe, no harm will come to any. There will be no evil. The rule of Jesus Christ will be glorious. Even the animals will be at peace.  -DC
