Leviticus Chapter 17
This indicates one way, one God and only one way. God has a plan to save mankind and put away sins. There is only one way. They were not to take it upon themselves to offer sacrifices other ways or other places. This is because these sacrifices were leading up to the Christ that was the only way of salvation. Idols, idolatry, false religion and false gods could not save the eternal soul. They cannot put away sins. False religion keeps sin within the individual. The person then dies with the sin within their soul. They are lost for eternity. Sin has to be forgiven and cleansed in order
for anyone to inherit eternal life. Only one way. No way but Jesus
Christ can cleanse from sin and bring us back to God. There is no
other salvation. To play around with other religions or even a
so-called Christian religion that has watered down the gospel of
Jesus Christ is to play with fire. Any religion, Christian or
non-Christian that does not teach repentance from sin and faith in
Jesus alone to save from sin, is not preaching the gospel. For the sake of those who mistakenly think this gospel is not for women, read John chapter 4 where Jesus tells the woman at the well about the living water that she can receive if she believes in Him as the Messiah, the Christ and Lord. That living water is the Holy Spirit that is given to those that repent and come to Christ by faith. Thank you Lord for including everyone who would believe. Male, female, bond, free, child, adult, rich, poor, black, white, Jew or Gentile. All these laws and sacrifices are pointing Israel to the one Moses spoke about that was to come to bring everlasting salvation to those who would receive Him. You can find this foretold in Deuteronomy 18. Here is what John wrote about this one:
The children of Israel were not allowed to just make sacrifices in other places and take a chance on offering them to other gods that other nations sacrificed to. There is only one way. They had to come to Aaron or Aaron's descendants after him as God appointed until Christ came to fulfill the law of sacrifices and become the final perfect sacrifice that was to reconcile us back to God. This is also given to the Gentiles as God promised Abraham. Only through Christ can one worship God now. Only when the priesthood was changed to Jesus Christ once and for all making Himself a sacrifice and becoming the only mediator between God and man, can we go straight to God and not need a priest or prophet.
When Jesus talked with the woman at the well, she reminded Him that there was only one place to worship and that was Jerusalem. The old law forbade any sacrifices except in one place. Through Christ the covenant, the law and all things were fulfilled and changed. Now we worship God in spirit and in truth as individuals, any time and any where. The wall of separation between God and man was broken when Jesus died for sin and rose again. We can come boldly before the throne of God when we repent of sin and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He would have no part in the salvation of Israel. He is cut off from God. To do things one's own way and not God's way, is to ignore eternal life and remain in sin.
Blood is not to be eaten. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. It was not to be eaten. The sacrifices spoken of under the law given to Israel through Moses was a temporary sacrificial system in place to keep sin confined or from going wild until the final sacrifice for sin was made by Jesus Christ. To eat blood was an abomination. It represents life and the atonement for souls.
Again this indicates the purity and cleanliness that is needed to come to worship God. God is holy and cannot be worshipped while one is unclean and in sin. We come to Christ to be made clean within and we can then come boldly to the throne of God in praise and worship. One way and only one way of salvation. All these rules and regulations point to one way of doing things and that is God's way. Manmade religion is an abomination to God because a big price was paid to bring us back to Him and that was God's only Son was to come to die for our sins and paid the price for our redemption. Had there been another way, God would have thought of that first without allowing His own Son to become flesh and blood and die for sins He did not commit. The innocent Son of God became guilty when our sins were laid on Him. His death paid the penalty for sin which was eternal separation from God called the second death. By faith in Jesus Christ and what He did for us, we can have eternal life and live forever when Jesus returns. Even so come Lord Jesus. DC
